I got married in July of 2018, and in the process I re-discovered the beautiful art of pointed pen calligraphy. As a child, I had always wanted to try my hand at calligraphy, but the tools and books I tried didn’t seem to work for me. Thanks to the abundance of information on the modern internet, I began to research and invest in learning calligraphy and hand-lettering as a meditative, personal practice. As a full-time dancer, choreographer, and teacher, this new venture into visual art gave me a creative outlet that was focused on beauty for it’s own sake, where meaning is concrete, and direct communication is highly valued. It felt great to do, and I found out that it felt even better to share it and to create things for others!

I began doing projects for friends and family, and eventually expanded to wedding clients. I love to collaborate, and I look forward to thoughtfully creating and designing every piece of hand-lettering I make. I am currently only accepting commissions for full weddings, including design and production of any envelope addressing, calligraphy, hand-lettering, and signage you might need to make your wedding feel cohesive, beautiful, and customized just for you.

The watercolor calla lily in my logo was inspired by my grandmother Caroline, and painted by my dear friend, Julia Allisson Cost.
